James, Isobel and myself went out for a walk along the canal this morning and met this character -
We had great fun feeding him lots of bread and getting a little scared as he came up the bank to say hello.
Afterwards we went to our friend Sylvia's house to celebrate New Year's day. Marek and Sigita were there as well and it was a funny mixture of work and relaxation (as so often happens in my work) with lots of questions about what it is to be a Presbyterian. Thankfully Sylvia had a lovely chicken curry as well as all of the usual turkey and sprouts.
All round a great start to 2013!
